Holmes HAPF622R Blizzard Remote Control Power Fan

Holmes HAPF622R Blizzard Remote Control Power Fan
People who favor fans over air conditioners like to feel a room breathe or to feel outdoor breezes in the house. The Holmes HAPF622R Blizzard remote control power fan brings a little more of the outdoors in with its innovative breeze modes. In addition to the standard ON setting, the Holmes Blizzard offers two settings which switch speeds randomly to mimic the feeling of natural breezes. As for power, the Blizzard has a five-fin fan blade which moves more air per rotation than the more common four-fin blade. And the front grill can oscillate as well, which increases the width of the cone of air being moved.

The fan has a charcoal-gray, rounded casing that echoes the circle of the fan itself; the curved carrying handle arcs above for easy portability. The manual controls are another arc of light-gray buttons on the face of the fan. With the convenient remote control, however, those buttons might never even get used. Both the manual and the remote buttons use icons for the various commands: a circle for on/off, three wavy lines for the breeze functions, a clock for the timer, a fan for the speed setting, and a fan with two arrows for the front grill oscillation. There are three speeds, and the timer can be set to shut off at any half-hour increment up to 7-1/2 hours.

Always unplug fan before cleaning. Use a soft cloth moistened with a mild, nonabrasive soap solution. Do not use gasoline, paint thinner, or benzene as a cleaning solution; also do not allow water to drip on or enter fan housing. The remote control requires two AAA batteries (not included). The Holmes HAPF622R power fan measures 18 by 19 by 6 inches. Holmes provides a 3-year limited warranty against defects in material and workmanship under normal use conditions. --Garland Withers

Customer Review: Exactly what I wanted

I love this fan. I love that the grate on the front twirls to create and oscillating stream of air. The air stream moves around subtly, so if you want something obvious, pick another fan.
I also enjoy that it's light-weight and thin so I can put it in a window or on the floor like a box fan, but this is much more attractive than a box fan.
It has a remote control!!!!
It is fairly quiet, except when you push one of the buttons. It beeps when you push a button which isn't very zen, but oh well.
Other features: a timer and two random "breeze" settings.

Customer Review: A cold wind!

A cold wind blows in your room, reasonably quietly, variable speed, remote controlled. A controllable blizzard. My PC loves it.
